I’m not sure when graphite shafts lost the stigma of being for old men. I remember the exact moment the seed got planted, though. What changed, as far as I can tell, is the engineering muscle and global reach now standing behind it.
I see that backing show up in the results. True Sports brands, ACCRA included, were in the bags of 37 of 39 Tour winners in 2025, a number that tells me everything about the company keeping the lights on behind ACCRA’s fitting philosophy. To me, it’s a rare acquisition story where the smaller brand didn’t lose what made it special; it just picked up a much bigger set of shoulders to stand on.
The shaft I’ve come to pay the most attention to among iron players is the iSeries iCWT, which I found available in 75-, 95-, and 115-gram builds. The 95-gram version sits in that sweet spot between featherweight graphite and traditional steel, and it’s become the shaft I recommend most to friends making the jump. I learned that “iCWT” stands for Individual Constant Weight Technology, and unlike most graphite iron shafts that get progressively lighter as the clubs get shorter, every shaft in the set weighs exactly 95 grams, from 2-iron to wedge.
